Felixstowe Volunteer Coast Patrol and Rescue Service

Felixstowe Volunteer Coast Patrol & Rescue Service are a charity that provide an independent lifeboat facility. We actively patrol an area between Orford on the Suffolk coast, down to Hamford Water on the Essex coast, but will attend any incident further afield if required. Our patrols are carried out in the busy season, between Easter and October, during weekends and Bank Holidays, however we are on call 24/7 should we be required by various agencies, and for flood alerts.

Our primary objective is to preserve life, either by reacting to incidents as they happen, or spotting potential danger and taking action to avert any threat to life. Or by education, either holding talks at schools and clubs or reaching a wider audience through local events. Our motto is 'In Salutem Omnium', For the safety of all.

We work with many agencies, including HM Coastguard, Suffolk Constabulary, East of England Ambulance Service, HM Border Force, the RNLI and many more. Often our service is also requested directly by boat owners in the area that require our help, free of charge of course!

The service is run entirely by volunteers, with no regular grants from government agencies, we purely rely on donations from the public and support from local businesses.
